If you know me you know I am a foodie person, so I was in my element with the delicious food New York City had to offer. Before I even got on the plane I already had a look at different places to eat and saved lots of places I wanted to try. All the places I went were suitable for vegetarians. In this post ill be giving my recommendations and lots of pictures of the yummie food I ate when I was away… prepare to be hungry.
Ellen’s Stardust Diner:
So many people have recommended this place and I just hadn’t got around to it until my recent trip to New York and I have to say I would go again. We did have to queue outside for an hour because It is so popular but was worth it. The staff all sing and perform as they are serving the tables. All the staff are aspiring to be on Broadway someday and this is there practice and way to showcase their incredible voices. The food was lovely as well. I would defiantly recommend going here if you’re in New York.
I saw this place online and it looked interesting and It was only a 5-minute walk from our hotel. The décor was quirky, there was lots of different memorabilia from movies all over the restaurant. The portion sizes were huge, we both had macaroni and cheese and I could just about eat half of it. It was the best macaroni and cheese I have ever had, delicious. Plus, the staff were really attentive, and I had a new drink on my table before I even asked, great service.
There are a few of these all over New York city. We went here twice for breakfast but I’m pretty sure they do lunch and dinner too, we could see them setting up pizza as we were leaving. You go to the counter and order your food, get a ticket, go to a till to pay and then back to the place your ordered to wait for your number to be called. The service was good and fast both times we went there, and the food was so good. You must pop here for breakfast if you can. I had a bagel with cream cheese and pancakes, it was so good.
I saw this place on Instagram and the food looked incredible. First thing that came to mind is a shop all about cheese, so I had to make time to visit. We went later in the evening, so we were hungry but didn’t want a full meal. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and a side of pickles. Well what I thought was pickles, turned out to be a huge pickle. It was so nice for an evening snack.
Time Square Diner & Grill:
We weren’t sure where to go for our last night, we wanted a sit-down meal for our last evening before we went home so had a little explore around by our hotel and found this little gem. The food was really good and a big portion. The staff were lovely, and it was a cute little restaurant, not quite but not crazy busy. Really enjoyed this meal.
You have to stop at the Magnolia bakery in New York, literally the best bakery ever. The cakes, cupcakes, brownies, pies are all delicious. They have a few dotted around New York city, defiantly stop in if you can.
