Makeup Assessments!

In college I had to do a day makeup assessment and an evening makeup assessment as part of my course.

For the day makeup assessment, I had 25 minutes to create the makeup look on my partner. I had to include foundation, brows, eye shadow, mascara, contour, blush, brown eyeliner, bronzer and highlight. All this had to be done in 25 minutes. Beforehand I was really stressed about it, 25 minutes didn’t seem long enough at all, but you would be surprised what you can accomplish when it comes down to it. I managed to do it in 20 minutes and had 5 minutes to tidy anything up and make sure everything looked good.

We had to do the hair, outfit and makeup for the assessment to create the entire look. I am happy with how my day makeup turned out, I got 100% which is a Distinction.

For my evening assessment I had 50 minutes to complete the makeup look on my partner. I had to include foundation, contour, bronzer, blusher, highlighter, brows, eye shadow, mascara, lashes and lipstick to compete the criteria for the look. I made sure I did the eyebrows and eyes first, so the lashes had time to dry, because my teacher lightly pulled on the lashes to ensure they are on properly.

Before the assessment I felt a lot more relaxed because we had double the amount of time to create the look. We had to have an outfit and hair ready for the assessment to create an overall look of a night out. During the assessment I felt like time suddenly went really fast, I started with the eyes and spent a lot of time on the eyes and eyebrows compared to the rest of the face. Eyelashes went on quite well, a lot better than I thought they would. I got 100% on this assessment too which is a distinction.

I am really happy with how both my day and evening assessment looks turned out.
