Literally the day after I got back from Greece, I went to Tenby for a long weekend. I haven’t really explored Wales before so was excited. My step father’s family own a beautiful caravan just outside Tenby, so they go down there a lot and they always have the best time. I’ve never been off work the same time to be able to go but for the first time in years I was.
We made our way down in the afternoon, I needed to unpack from Greece to repack for this little get away. We arrived around 6pm and my mother took us into Tenby to have a little look around, a walk on the beach and had a chippy tea. Was a really nice and relaxing evening.
We woke up early the next day and had a big breakfast before spending the day exploring. We went to Tenby and took a boat across to Caldey Island. It was stunning and the weather was boiling. We walked to the top of the island where the lighthouse is and bought a lot of fudge that they make and sell on the island, I should have bought more! We spent the day walking around and taking in the beautiful views. We got a boat back to Tenby, went back to the caravan and had a barbeque.
The next day we went to Barafundle Bay, it’s a little bit of a walk to get there but it was totally worth it. It was really quiet when we first arrived but didn’t get that busy throughout the day. Such a beautiful hidden gem. You wouldn’t think you were in wales, the water was so clear and blue, very cold but so clear. We spent the day relaxing on the beach, playing ball games and in the sea. We took a packed lunch too. Of course, we had ice cream on the walk back to the car, it’s not a day at the beach without ice cream.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing and having a few drinks which was lovely. Then we had to make our way home and come back to reality, my mother is there for another week. I am a little jealous especially the weather being so nice.
